Sustainable Bridgeman Downs 4035
Community bush care group and residents verge gardens working together to create a more sustainable suburb

Bushcare
Section for the new bushcare group at Wendon Way Park. This is being set up in collaboration with the Brisbane City Council and through North Brisbane Catchments and the Brisbane Catchments Network. The local leader of this group is Jane Tanzer.

Streetscapes
Street trees and native verge gardens play an important part in greening our suburb, reducing heat, and managing stormwater. Shady, walkable streets are also better for social connections, health, and access to public transport.

Gardens
Private gardens add up to a lot of land that can be planted for habitat and biodiversity. In some states they have "Gardens for Wildlife" programs. Here we have a great source of local native plants at Kumbartcho Nursery at Eatons Hill. Brisbane City Council also gives away two free plants to each resident every year. Take a copy of your rates notice (electronic will do) to Downfall Creek to claim yours.
