Good morning, below is a message from our Creek Catchment Officer, Wes. As a precaution I have been down to the site this morning and removed the tree guards, all signage and marking tape so they do not become a hazard.
Take care, Jane
Hello Bushcare Leaders,
I’m sure everyone knows that Cyclone Alfred is coming our way in the next few days, with winds picking up tomorow. Please ensure your safety, and those that are close to you, so we can all meet again after the storm settles.
Just like during, and after, the 2022 floods that hit Brisbane, please stay away from your sites until the storm has passed, and it is safe to do so. Since most of the bushcare sites are heavily vegetated, the high winds can and ensuing rain can make the site quite unsafe. This could be in the form of fallen trees or powerlines, land slippage, pollution, and numerous other things that can be a cause of concern. I would rather ensure everyone is safe as a priority, and then we can discuss how your site looks after the storm.
Please pass this along to all your volunteers, and stay safe!
Thanks Jane
Thanks Jane. Good job! Stay safe 😀
