On Sunday 18th August, we kicked off the new Bushcare group with a gathering to meet each other. Even though it was held with very short notice, we were pleased to have 16 people attend. Several others sent apologies and requests to be kept in the loop. The best way to keep up with what is happening is to subscribe to our newletter.
It was good to talk to other local residents and it helps a lot to have support from other local organisations North Brisbane Catchments (Ken Anderson sitting on my right), and ACF Community Brisbane Northside (Tony Kozera standing).
There were lots of suggestions on how we can build the group including letterboxing, and a poster in the noticeboard at the entrance to the park. You can add more via the comments button below.
All updates will be published here, and automatically go out to subscribers by email. Although we will share these on Facebook, this Substack is our main platform as we’ll reach more people here.

Next Steps
I will be meeting in the next week or so with our BCC catchment officer who is getting all the official pieces in place and discuss the plans they have for Wendon Way.
We anticipate a platy-spotting event in September. Stay tuned!

That's a great turnout on the day. It's so exciting to see this happening. Many thanks to you Jane for taking on the role of Group Leader for the new Wendon Way Bush Care group.
