New Bushcare Group
We have platypuses in the creek at Wendon Way, Bridgeman Downs. We want to work with others to revegetate the creek bed to protect their habitat.
Brisbane City Council are planning to improve the platypus habitat at Wendon Way, revegetating the creek beds to hold the soil in place and create more biodiverse habitat.
Part of that will be the establishment of a new Bushcare group in August 2024 under the umbrella of North Brisbane Catchments and in collaboration with Brisbane City Council.
Once established, bushcare is often just a couple of hours a month - weeding, planting, etc - many hands make light work. It’s also a great chance to meet people, have great conversations and learn more about nature, while doing good for our environment.
Our first event is an informal gathering at Wendon Way Park from 10am to 11am on Sunday 18th August 2024. This is for people interested in joining to meet each other. No need to RSVP. Look for the North Brisbane Catchments banner.
